Why I Love Troll 2
I love watching movies. And I’m sure many of you fine netizens do too or you wouldn’t be checking out this blog. There is just something so special and wonderful about letting a good flick sweep you off your feet and being transported to a whole new world. But I have a confession to make… I’m not really fan of “good flicks”. More specifically, I love B-Horror films and their associated musical score. I feel like the musical composition of a movie, especially B-Horror movies, is vitally important in conveying the meaning and atmosphere of this cherished art-form. Masterfully composed by the legendary Italian maestro Carlo Maria Cordio, throwing this on the turntable and dropping the needle on this wondrous and beautiful LP makes me remember why I fell in love with the movie.
27 Years Later
Although this cult-horror-comedy was released way back in 1990, it wasn’t until earlier this year (2017) that the original Troll 2 Soundtrack was finally released. With that said it’s pretty clear that the popularity of the film hasn’t dwindled. One of my all-time favorite things to do is to introduce an unsuspecting friend to the magic of Troll 2. Described by many as fantastically “eclectic”, this record spans multiple genres and it’s pretty hard to pin down exactly what it is. Running the gamut from rock to synth and everything in between, for a first time listener (like Forest Gump famously said) you never know what you’re gonna get. There are 18 tracks of pure bliss to explore and they are all bangers. All of them.

The movie was filmed before a live studio audience to enhance the soundtrack of the film. Though it is slightly too long, it is not your typical B-horror movie. Additionally, this film feels to be an explosion at the script factory. As of November 2016 the remake was cancelled.
